Set against a lush Capilano forest backdrop, this project revolved around a beautifully crafted, A-frame glass-covered pergola. As one of our most striking structures, this design used massive Douglas Fir beams, each meticulously sanded and stained multiple times for an indoor-quality finish.

With a high-pitched roof covered in crystal-clear glass, this statement piece was built to provide year-round protection from the elements without compromising light or openness. The single structure transformed their deck into a versatile, year-round living space.

When creating a design, we know durability matters just as much as aesthetics. We don't want to create a beautiful space that starts to fall apart after a few uses; we want it to be a mainstay for every property and the people using it. That's why we chose composite decking instead of cedar, matching the materials with the damp climate of Capilano.

A picture-framed layout featuring two sophisticated shades of brown was also chosen to create visual depth and distinction. Complemented by minimal but carefully chosen natural stone pathways and subtle plantings, the two-tiered deck and pergola were simple yet impactful, defining 90% of the project.

Upon completion of this functional and appealing space, the homeowners experienced a moment of realization: landscaping isn't just about resale—it's about enjoying your home to its fullest potential.
